Cheyutha DISHA Centre (CDC):
This is an 'Early Intervention and School Readiness Scheme' for children in the age group of 0-10 years with the four disabilities (Autism, Cerebral palsy, Mental Retardation, & Multiple Disabilities) covered under the National Trust Act that aims at providing training (specifically school readiness) and counseling to both children and parents.
The salient features of the Centre are as follows:
- It is on Day Care basis.
- Provides Therapeutics covering: Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Yoga, Recreational and other such need based one.
- Provides training on: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), Communication, Pre-academics, Fun Games, School Preparedness and other matching one.
- Provide support to Family Members for continuation of training at home with better connectivity.
- The capacity of the Centre is 20 (can increase up to 26) as per the guidelines covering both BPL & APL.
This Centre is approved, supported and guided by the National Trust (under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment), Government of India, New Delhi. It is in the stage of establishment and significant milestone as this is the first support from the Government. It was inaugurated on 22nd Feb 2016 and making difference with the effective participation of the parents and other family members.
